1 Chef Mavro

One of the most romantic restaurants in Honolulu, Chef Mavro pulls out all the stops for Valentine's Day. Though dinner on Feb. 14 is sold out, you can still get the decadent prix fixe menu on the eve. It features Hudson Valley foie gras, Keahole lobster risotto, Colorado-raised lamb with poha rice eggplant fritters and, of course, its signature pavlova with seasonal berries poached in maple syrup.

2 Hoku's

Starting on Feb. 10, Hoku's at the posh Kahala Hotel & Resort will serve a special multi-course menu ($115 per person, $160 with wine pairings) that boasts sauteed foie gras served with a strawberry compote, a seared scallop with sauteed spinach and quail egg drizzled with a truffle butter sauce, and a duo dessert of a Japanese-style cheesecake with a tangy raspberry sorbet. After dinner, you can enjoy a glass of champagne on the newly redone Veranda lounge and listen to live music.

3 Dangerously Romantic

Take your Valentine on the  most quintessential of dates: dinner and a movie. The Doris Duke Theatre at the Honolulu Academy of Arts will host a French buffet by EAT Catering and Cafe — angel hair pasta tossed in a béchamel sauce, strawberry spinach salad, braised beef short ribs, chocolate layered parfait — music by the Hotclub of Hulaville, and a screening of the French romantic comedy "Le Fée." All for just $45.

4 The Pig & The Lady

This popular pop-up is serving a six-course, red-themed menu ($79) featuring oysters with pork cracklins, salt-baked beets, braised short ribs, bun rieu (a crab and tomato rice noodle soup) and dessert of haw flake with olive oil cake and guava sorbet. A nice touch: the meats and produce are all from local farms.
