London Symphony Orchestra To Put On Stravinsky Concert In Trafalgar Square

The London Symphony Orchestra said that, newly partnered with BMW, it will conduct a free concert of Stravinsky on May 12 in Trafalgar Square in an effort “to take the finest music to the widest possible audience.”

Although Trafalgar Square is the perfect venue to appeal to both first-time audiences and seasoned fans alike,  the Orchestra will have to battle noise and elements in Central London. However, conductor Valery Gergiev said that it’s important for the LSO to venture outside concert halls because he has had good experiences conducting in outdoor settings in Munich, New York and Red Square, Moscow.
