Michelle Bernstein to Participate in Naples Winter Wine Festival

Celebrity Chef Michelle Bernstein has conquered South Florida with her three much-lauded restaurants—Crumb on Parchment, Sra. Martinez and Omphoy—and now the widely acclaimed chef is taking her talents to Naples for the Naples Winter Wine Festival from January 27-29, 2012.

Bernstein is eager to join the likes of other culinary greats for the event; so much so, that the chef has been planning the menu for some time now. “I get to rub elbows with amazing chefs and some wine folks I have idolized for years— and this festival is one of my favorites.”

Thomas Murphy Jr. Completes Largest Construction Project in Miami Dade County History

In the past, Thomas Murphy Jr. held the title as the youngest-ever licensed general contractor in Florida, and since then, the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Coastal Construction Group hasn’t slowed down. As one of Florida’s largest builders, the company currently has over $1 billion of work in progress.

In recent news, Coastal completed the largest construction project in Miami-Dade County’s history, the St. Regis Resort and Residences in Bal Harbour. For those who haven’t had the opportunity to see this masterpiece with their own eyes, let us assure you that the property will meet your every whim. And if the St. Regis’ opulent grounds aren’t dazzling enough, the resort also features a Jean-Georges restaurant.

Dwyane Wade and LeBron James Announced as Starters in NBA All-Star Game

Haute 100 Miami listers Dwyane Wade and LeBron James were announced as starters for the Eastern Conference at this year’s NBA All-Star game in Orlando. This will be the eighth time that Wade and James represent the East in the challenging game that consists of only the very best players in the NBA.

Joining Wade and James will be fellow NBA greats Dwight Howard, Derrick Rose and recent Haute Living cover star, Carmelo Anthony.

 Khan will be named the Star of Design in Photography for her exceptional eye and expertise in the field.

Iran Issa Khan to be Honored as a Star of Design

Haute 100 Miami lister Iran Issa Khan will be honored on February 1, 2012, at the Design Center of the America’s Stars of Design, Stars on the Rise event. Khan will be named the Star of Design in Photography for her exceptional eye and expertise in the field.

The event will take place in the DCOTA’s Atrium C at 5:30 p.m., and will be sponsored by Mandarine Napoleon, Alacran Tequila, Perrier and 42Below Vodka. Other award recipients include Clodagh (Lifetime Achievement); Jennifer Post (Interior Design); Chad Oppenheim (Architecture); Franco Pianegonda (Product Design); Kiran Shiva Akal (Graphic Design); DJ Hay (Landscape Design and Architecture); and Henry Richardson (Art).

Brett David, CEO of Prestige Imports and founder of the Ride 2 Revive organization, took to Gulfstream Park and Casino Jan. 23 to host a charity event benefiting children with terminal diseases.

David partnered with the Simcha Layeladim foundation for the day, which invited some 25 children from Israel to take a spin in various luxury vehicles. The cars included the Mercedes SLS AMG, the 2012 Ferrari 458, a 1965 Cobra, two Lamborghini Gallardos, a Lotus Evora, and the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. This event is said to be the first of many for the Ride 2 Revive foundation.
