Chaya Venice’s ‘Oyster Fair’ and Manhattan Beach’s ‘Can You Dig It’ Event

It’s a festive dining affair in Los Angeles as Chaya Venice prepares for the Oyster Fair, which will take place from February 15 through March 3. Manhattan Beach’s ‘Can You Dig It’ inaugural event will kick off on February 24.

Chaya Venice’s ‘Oyster Fair’ will be available for dinner only with an outstanding menu featuring both hot and cold dishes. Items to look for include fresh oysters on the half shell (Kumamoto, Fanny Bay, Hama Hama) for $16, Baked Oyster Rockefeller (with spinach, bacon, cream, parmesan cheese) for $19, Oyster and Citrus Cured Salmon Chowder (with Japanese leeks) and Homemade Bacon Scone for $20, Kobe Short Rib “Pot Pie” (with a caramelized sweet onion sauce, oyster zucchini and champagne cream) for $29. During the ‘Oyster Fair,’ regular menu items will also be available.

The ‘Oyster Fair’ will take place from February 15 through March 3, Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Chaya Venice is located at 110 Navy St., Venice, California.

Another local event to keep your eye on is the Manhattan Beach ‘Can You Dig It’ inaugural festivities featuring chef David LeFevre of M.B. Post. This seasonal event will bring together a guest chef and a featured farmer – this year it will be Chef Giuseppe Tentori of Boka, GT Fish & Oyster and Maryann Carpenter from Coastal Farms in Santa Paula.Taking place on February 24 at noon, here you can enjoy a three-course meal of sharing-style plates for $65 with an optional wine pairing for just $35 more.  The event will take place at 1142 Manhattan Ave., Manhattan Beach, California.
