Sadie Opens Jan. 24 Where Outdoor Nightclub Les Deux Once Stood

It used to be the outdoor night club Le Deux (and frequent hot spot on the reality show The Hills), but now it’ll reopen Jan. 24 as Sadie, a civilized spot for proper dinner and drinks. Ownership and PR have been tight-lipped about the opening for months, but it is now known that Executive Chef David Schmit, previously chef at the Hotel Bel Air and the Buffalo Club in Santa Monica, will by manning the kitchen while the bar and wine list will be handled by Giovanni Martinez.

The menu is described as “New American,” which could mean the food will be farm-to-table— think Dry-Aged Prime Sirloin with Shallot Puree, Roasted Artichoke, Thyme Jus; and Roasted Chicken Breast with Spaetzle, Brussels Sprouts, Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes, and Grain Mustard Sauce. Cocktails are “handcrafted” and the wine list is “eclectic.” Martinez will be serving crafty cocktails like Kentucky Ninja (Japanese Single Malt Whiskey, Bourbon Whiskey, Fresh Lemon Juice, Lavender-infused Wild Honey, served in a Peychauds Bitters rimmed glass) and Oaxacan through Italy (Pechuga, Vermouth di Torino, Cynar served in a coupe with a singed Orange Peel)

With the dim, dark interior, Sadie will be quite fitting in its new home.
