Ice Sculpting Festival in London

If you’re in London and in need of fun, but have no idea what to do this weekend, feel free to go an enjoy the London Ice Sculpting Festival that just opened yesterday. The festival will run from Friday, January 13th until today, January 14th, 2012 at Canary Wharf and not to mention it’s free.

Some of the events which will take place at the London Festival will be Winter Sports which is a doubles competition at Montgomery Square running from Friday, January 13 from 09:00-19:00 and Saturday, January 14th from 08:00-14:00, Team Spirit which is a singles competition held today at 14:30-16:00 also at Montgomery Square. Guests will have a chance to vote for the public choice awards which is done online or at the Festival to help determine the public’s favorite ice sculpture with the theme “Team Spirit.”

More events at the Festival include, enjoying fun in the snow by making snow castles or snowmen at The Snow Pit, held Friday, January 13th 10:00-18:00 and Saturday, January 14th 10:00-18:00. If that’s not enough fun, try New Frost Fayre, an event where you can buy special themed winter food and drinks. Open Friday and Saturday, Jan.13-14, 08:00-18:00.

After enjoying some hot food and drinks, take some time to enjoy watching the winners of the competitions awarded prizes right in Montgomery Square today at 16:00. If that’s still not enough, the Festival will be having free 20 minute masterclasses, a great opportunity to learn how to sculpt through fantastic workshops open for children 12 and up. The festivities will continue at Canada Square Park from Friday, January 13th, 10:00-18:00 and Saturday, January 14th, 10:00-18:00. Also, Jubilee Place Shopping Mall on Friday, January 13th, 12:00-16:00 and today at 10:00-18:00. Enjoy
