On January 17th, honorary chairs Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones celebrated an evening of friends, food and dancing for Marty Richards’ 80th birthday.

Guest came to the party at  the Rubin Museum of Art dressed festive and with a little splash of red and danced to the music of Lonnie Youngblood and His Band

In his first 80 years, Marty Richards has enjoyed an amazing professional life that has been recognized with multiple Tony Awards, Drama Desk Awards, a Golden Globe, the BAFTA, and the Academy Award. His productions have been seen worldwide by millions…and have become iconic in the worlds of theatre, film, and music. He also had a deep and abiding love in his wife Mary Lea…a love that has lived on beyond her years through the various organizations he founded in her memory.

The Mary Lea Johnson Richards Research Institute has become one of the outstanding research facilities for liver, kidney, and pancreatic diseases. The importance of this research has become even more significant to Marty this past year, as he has been fighting the brave fight with liver cancer.
