Haute Event: Dr. Dre Parties at 1OAK While Laidback Luke Performs

Laidback Luke performs at 1OAK.

Legendary rapper/producer Dr. Dre arrived to 1OAK at the Mirage around 11:15 p.m. with an entourage of guests on Thursday night. Quickly escorted to his VIP table, Dre got the party started inside the club with DJ Stellar behind the turntables.

Following dinner at Stack at the Mirage, his close friend and business partner/music mogul Jimmy Iovine and Beats By Dre president Luke Wood joined Dre at his table around 11:45 p.m. Dre, Iovine and Wood, in town for the CES convention to unveil their new Beats By Dre Holiday Collection, partied at adjoining VIP tables, enjoying several bottles of champagne. At the table next to theirs, which seemed to blend together by the end of the night, Dre partied with 1OAK co-founders Scott Sartiano and Richie Akiva, along with business partner Ronnie Madra and managing partner Eli Pacino.

Around 12:30 a.m., Akiva got on the mic to hype up the crowd for the main event. Dutch deejay sensation Laidback Luke got on the turntables, spinning a one-of-a-kind set for a packed house, including rap superstar Nelly, who was also partying at 1OAK.

During Laidback Luke’s performance, the world’s most iconic figure in dance music today, Kryoman, surprised the rowdy crowd with a special performance of his spectacular light show as he towered over guests. Causing partygoers to get even more pumped up, Laidback Luke continued to set the high-energy mood for the party from behind the deejay booth until 3 a.m.

A little later, Dre retreated to his VIP suite, around 3:30 a.m., practically closing down the club.
