Elizabeth Taylor’s Belongings to be Auctioned

Items belonging to the late Hollywood icon and Academy Award-winning actress, Elizabeth Taylor, will be auctioned off at the world-reknowned auction house Christies in New York Dec. 13-17. Pieces for sale include jewelry, clothing, art, memorabilia and even one of the actress’s two Oscar statues. Part of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

This emerald and diamond pendant Bvlgari necklace, a gift from Richard Burton, is estimated to sell between $2.5 million and $3.5 million.

The leather-bound copy of Elizabeth Taylor’s script for National Velvet will be up for auction. In the movie, Taylor played the part of Velvet Brown, a young girl who trains her horse to win the Grand National. The movie would make Taylor a star at the age of 12.
