THE SCENE: Louis Vuitton Art Talks

The prestigious luxury goods brand Louis Vuitton has long been known for its interest in and dedication to the fine arts. On September 7, the Louis Vuitton Art Talk series debuted in Miami. The first edition of the series featured a discussion between prominent Brazilian artist Vik Muniz and Gringo Cardia, Creative Director of Brazilian non-profit organization SPECTACULU, which educates at-risk youths in art, design and photography.

The Art Talk coincided with the display of Muniz’s art installation, Innumerable, at Louis Vuitton Aventura’s dedicated art space. Muniz’s large wooden and canvas renditions of the famous “LV” logo, constructed in honor of Louis Vuitton’s longtime bond with the art world, were made in collaboration with students from SPECTACULU.

Louis Vuitton Art Talks were first launched in 2006 in the United Kingdom and have been tearing through the fashion and art communities ever since. This project was designed to give outsiders a glimpse into the inspirational world of an artist in a way that a regular interview could not.
