The Orange Crocs Come to Vegas When Mario Batali Puts on a Live Cooking Demonstration at the Venetian

Mario Batali plans a live cooking demonstration at the Venetian Nov. 25.

Skip the leftover turkey, shopping deals and football on Black Friday and instead head over to the Venetian for a live cooking demonstration by Mario Batali. He of the orange Crocs is coming to Vegas Nov. 25 for an outdoors event where he prepares his signature pizzas in a wood-burning stove set to the backdrop of the gondolas of the Venetian from 1 to 3 p.m. While you’re watching the chef cook up pizza during this free event, you can interact with Batali and ask questions.

It’s all part of the Venetian and Palazzo’s Winter in Venice celebration, a first for the resorts that kicks off Nov. 21 with a free concert from Jordin Sparks. Batali, a gastronomic superstar known for his unique sense of style both in the kitchen and in his attire, is a critically acclaimed James Beard award-winning chef, restaurateur, author, philanthropist and television personality. At the Venetian and Palazzo, he has three restaurants — Otto Enoteca Pizzeria, B&B Ristorante and Carnevino Italian Steakhouse.

“I love getting a chance to visit my restaurants in Vegas and spend some time in the kitchen,” Batali said. “It’s one of the most fun cities in the world. And Venice in Vegas—what could be better?”
