Rolls-Royce Unveils Final Three Images of The Rankin: Spirit of Ecstasy Collection

To celebrate 100 years of the Spirit of Ecstasy Flying Lady hood ornament, Rolls-Royce collaborated with photographer Rankin to produce a collection of 100 photographs inspired by the Spirit of Ecstasy. The final three images have just been unveiled.

Luxury automaker Rolls-Royce has been celebrating 100 years of grace and beauty by unveiling 100 images inspired by the Spirit of Ecstasy Flying Lady hood ornament. The final three images were based on The Whisperer, which is said to be “the earliest and most personal Charles Sykes’ figurines, which includes a confidential finger to the lips, believed to be a sly nod to the long secrecy of Montagu’s 10 year love affair with Eleanor Thornton.

Created by Charles Sykes for Lord Montagu, the founder of Car Illustrated, the lady hood ornament graced his 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost and the rest, as they say, is history.

Some of the images from The Rankin: Spirit of Ecstasy collection will be placed on public display in The Rankin Gallery in Los Angeles and at the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars stand at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
