Joyce Rey’s Blog: My Interview with Peter Mullin

I had the honor of sitting down and chatting with my dear friend, Peter Mullin.  Peter is the world’s leading collector of antique French cars and owner of the spectacular art deco Mullin Car Museum (http://www.mullinautomotivemuseum.com/). Peter and his wonderful wife Merle also recently purchased the breathtaking Ram’s Gate Winery in Sonoma (http://www.ramsgatewinery.com/), where I enjoyed a fabulous private lunch and a tour of the estate.

Peter Mullin’s 1934 Voisin C-25 Aerodyne was just named 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Best of Show!  He told me that sitting in this car, driving through the fanfare and confetti, was the greatest moment in his life.  I asked what his favorite car is and he said “It is the one that I’m in that is always the best.”  I also asked if there was any single car he was dying to have, to which he quickly responded ”I have it. It’s in my beautiful art deco museum in Oxnard.”

I am so lucky to have Peter and Merle Mullin as my close friends, they are wonderful, giving, and gracious people, and I am forever grateful to have them in my life.
