Haute 100 Update: Clint Eastwood Honored at Star-Studded LACMA Art + Film Gala [PHOTOS]

Legendary actor and director Clint Eastwood was honored on Sat., Nov. 5 at the inaugural 2011 LACMA Art + Film Gala for his achievements in film. He joined art honoree John Baldessari for the star-studded evening, which was co-chaired by Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio, the star of Eastwood’s latest film, J. Edgar.

The evening paid tribute to the two iconic figures while also raising funds for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the venue for the evening’s festivities. Funds raised for the museum will be used for its “recently reenergized film program, which now includes exhibitions, acquisitions, educational programming, screenings, and a series called Live Read created by Jason Reitman.”

The gala was attended by numerous celebrities, including Zac Efron, Nick and Joe Jonas, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Zoe Saldana, Armie Hammer, Chris O’Donnell, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson, Camilla Belle, James Van Der Beek, Kevin Connolly, Steve Carell, Will Ferrell, Mickey Rourke, Jack Black, Balthazar Getty, “Mad Men” co-stars Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss, among many more.

On the committee’s decision to honor Eastwood, co-chair Eva Chow explained, “Clint Eastwood is such an amazing filmmaker. I can’t think of anyone who can cross over between the front and back of the camera at the level he’s been doing it for most of his life. I think he represents the word ‘cool,’ and I can’t believe we are fortunate enough to honor him at our first gala.”
