Versace Sit Down Dinner and Fashion Show on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills Hosted by Christine Chiu & Galena Sobolev

The flagship Versace boutique at 2 Rodeo on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills hosted a fashion show and dinner with Christine Chiu & Galina Sobolev for a curated view of the fall & winter Versace collection with Avril Graham Harper’s Bazaar Executive Fashion & Beauty Editor. The Beverly Hills fashionista’s were out in full force glam last night and arrived at 7:00 pm for cocktails one of which was Donatella Versace’s signature martini with Vodka, white cranberry juice and a splash for fresh blended strawberries and it was quite delicious.

We all had a chance to mill around and preview the new collection where I saw quite a few great pieces including some signature Versace patterned silk shirts, awesome leather jackets and pants as well as some stunning Oscar style gowns for the ladies. It was so hard just to pick one item out of this great new collection. Dinner was served around 8:00 pm starting with your choice of heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, pesto, evoo or cured farmers market pears, organic field greens, walnuts, orange supreme blood orange vinaigrette. The entrée selections were equally delectable with either citrus lemon & fennel roasted chicken breast served with tomato, roasted potatoes and grilled asparagus or the herb roasted filet mignon with orzo and sautéed asparagus. Now I am not a big desert eater but the red velvet cake with candied walnuts for desert was so amazing I had my piece as well as my wife’s.

During dinner we had a curated fashion show with Avril discussing the collection and ensembles as they came out including some spectacular evening gowns, my favorite was the one in silver. It was just a wonderful and fun evening with many old friends, like a private club, great food, drinks and lots of laughs. I will say that Versace always has amazing clothes and really knows how to throw a party. Many ladies wore the newest or vintage Versace and today vintage couture is really popular as there is a lot smaller chance of two ladies wearing the same outfit to an event. I myself wore a vintage gold silk Versace dinner jacket with silver Versace signature medusa heads embroidered in the material with crystal buttons. At first I thought I may be a bit over the top, but then I remembered this is a Versace party after all and that is what the Versace brand is all about, over the top cool!
