Look Out Miami: Carmellini’s ‘The Dutch’ Is On Its Way

There’s something about the city of New York; whether it be the fearless fashion or the flat-out fleeting pace that entices those that live outside of the big city. I for one love the fact that in NYC there is always an event taking place or a new restaurant to try. The attitude of the typical New Yorker is simple: Keep up or get left behind!

New York City is known for many things, but one of its greatest luxuries is the ability to indulge in the unparalleled cuisine at fine restaurants across town. The Dutch is one such place located in SoHo on the corner of Sullivan and Prince. At the Dutch, their mission is simple: good drinks, better food, and the best company. Around 9pm every night, the bar at The Dutch becomes crowded with young professionals, who mingle, sip savory beverages, and devour delicious bites. Featuring classic American fare with a twist, some of the best choices on the menu at The Dutch include the Asian white boy ribs, the sea scallops with smoked mushrooms and yuzu-chili broth, and the strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Renowned American chef and restaurateur Andrew Carmellini is the mastermind behind the perfectly assorted menu at The Dutch.  To sum up his accomplishments, Carmellini has been awarded two James Beard Awards, recognized as a Food And Wine Best New Chef, received a Michelin Star, and has earned a four-star review from the New York Times.

This fall, “Miamians” will need to look no further than the W South Beach for a taste of New York, literally. The Dutch will be opening its doors at the glamorous hotel this November. Just in time for Art Basel, The Dutch is sure to attract the best of the best in Miami, guaranteeing it to be the new hot spot restaurant and bar to rival Cecconi’s and both Primes. Joining Carmellini in his latest endeavor in Miami are Josh Pickard and Luke Ostrom of Locanda Verde, as well as Karim Masri and Nicola Siervo of Quattro.
