Las Vegas Sands Company To Land in Miami?

Casino resort company Las Vegas Sands, known best for its fabulous Venetian Resort, has been lookng into the possibility of building a new resort and casino in downtown Miami, in order to compete with the upcoming plans for the new Miami Genting casino. Las Vegas Sands has been in discussion to buy up an enormous plot of the Park West area of downtown Miami, eight blocks which were once designated for the Miami World Center.

Though the fragile economy has certainly slowed Sands’ plans, the company still intends to move forward if legislature agrees to grant them a gaming license. First though, legislature would have to legalize gambling, something without which the plans for the Genting resort would fail as well. Sands certainly has stiff competition with Genting, both resorts have a $3 billion price tag. It is as yet uncertain which plans will win out.
