Turtle Island Resort, Fiji – The Ultimate in Intimate Vacations

“Your Bure Mama takes care of your “bure” or your villa,” Keenan said. “She is your local concierge who shares with you the history of the island and the culture. You create a bond with this person. [Her] responsibility is to make sure that you’re happy.”
But it isn’t just the fact that Turtle Island was the filming location of the film Blue Lagoon, nor is it the peaceful privacy and intimate setting. It’s the true freedom that comes with the fact that it is all-inclusive.
Keenan explains that the stay is “totally all inclusive. You aren’t getting a bill for anything. It takes the issue of money and making decisions based on money out of the equation.” From horseback riding to the champagne breakfast, every activity is included.
This also goes for gourmet food and beverages.

“If you can think it we can make it,” Keenan said. And the kitchen won’t have to go far to get the ingredients. The resort’s organic “Garden of Eden” supplies all of the fruits, vegetables and herbs, and the local waters supply most of the seafood.
“Very little comes from town,” Keenan said. “Owner Richard Evanson has planted over a half million trees on the island. [It’s] green, lush and beautiful.”
Turtle Island’s beauty makes it an ideal locale for special celebrations like weddings and honeymoons. In 2011, it won a Travelers’ Choice Award as one of the Top 10 Hotels for Romance in the South Pacific.
Private, magnificent and truly freeing, somehow Turtle Island Resort is still getting better. Guests have the Vonu Spa to look forward to in spring 2012. (Vonu means “turtle” in Fijian.)
Turtle Island Resort is truly a place where beauty and culture come together. But don’t just take our word for it – only a visit can reveal the island’s true beauty.
