Seafood might be abundant in Miami, but quantity doesn’t mean quality. Enjoy fresh lobster at one of these five restaurants, from the most adventurous dishes to the fresh and simple kind.

1 Blue Door Fish at Delano

Blue Door Fish takes a seriously innovative hand at Lobster, and succeeds flawlessly. Introducing the Homard Banana: roasted Maine lobster, caramelized banana, brown butter and cilantro lime sauce. The flavor combinations in this dish have earned it a glowing reputation. If you’d rather play it safe, go with one of the seafood “Plateaus” or the Maine Lobster made your way, a la plancha.

2 A Fish Called Avalon

You’re sure to satisfy your lobster craving at A Fish Called Avalon. Choose from 1 lb. Maine Lobster from the raw bar or opt for one of the several cooked options. Cooked lobster dishes include Orzo Paella, Seafood Risotto, Twine Whole Maine Lobster, Sake and Tarragon Glazed Lobster Tails and Lobster Agnolotti. Take your pick.

3 Prime 112

This is one of those cases where a restaurant known for being a steakhouse serves equally superior seafood. Choose Maine Lobster cocktail from the raw bar or Maine Lobster broiled, steamed, or cracked and stuffed with Jumbo Lump Crab and Bay Scallops and Cognac Butter.  Want lobster on a smaller scale? Order the raved-about Truffled Lobster Mac n Cheese and you won’t be disappointed.

4 Joe’s Stone Crab

The lobster options are vast at Joe’s: Lobster tail (grilled, fried or broiled), Maine Lobster and a Cold Seafood Platter are all fresh and succulent. More flavorful choices include the Lobster Cobb Salad, Lobster Bisque, the Lobster Roll, Grilled Lobster Rueben and Lobster Macaroni & Cheese. Get your fix when Joe’s reopens October 14.

5 Smith & Wollensky

As was the case in the prior restaurant, Smith & Wollensky may be known for their dry aged steaks, but their seafood is not to go unnoticed. Try the Lobster Mango Salad with applewood bacon, sweet mango chutney and avocado aioli, served with a crispy tortilla garnish. For a more extravagant option, order the Shellfish Bouquet, a tower of chilled lobster and crabmeat with jumbo shrimp, oysters and clams.
