Polo trots into Richmond

Fast furious and featuring an awesome alliance between human and horse, the blue blooded game of polo is synonymous with glamour, luxury and wealth.

And the forthcoming IG Index HAC ‘105’ Polo Invitational – a three match event showcasing teams from the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC), the Household Cavalry Regiment and the Parachute Regiment – Challenge encapsulates everything that attracts the discerning polo aficionado, to the game.

The 105 event (the largest in the HAC calendar) is taking place at the beautiful and uniquely positioned Ham Polo Club in Richmond on Saturday September 17 and along with the polo promises a tent pegging display by the HAC Light Cavalry, music by the British Imperial Band, the horsebox gallery, a VIP lunch preceded by a champagne reception and an onsite after party at HAM VIP tent with a DJ and sax until 12 midnight. Phew!

Trophies for the winning teams include the already coveted ‘105’ – a 105mm artillery shell fired from the Tower of London on the first salute to commemorate the Prince of Wales’ 60th birthday, engraved by the master craftsmen of world renowned James Purdey & Sons. All proceeds from the day will support the HAC Benevolent Fund and the Parachute Regiment Charity – both of which aid the families of, and the troops affected, by war.
