Every year delightfully kooky fashion designer Betsey Johnson never ceases to surprise and entertain her audience during New York Fashion Week. From start to finish, the show was meant to excite. Nicki Minaj, amongst other celebrity guests, sat front row and cracked a bashful smile as the show began to her hit song “moment for life.” Betsey’s daughter, Lulu, opened the show with a form-fitting gown that made onlookers cheer.
Exposed leopard bras, floral prints, zippers, skulls, lace, studs, crotchet, and adorned headpieces are some of what we saw coming down the runway for Betsey Johnson’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Dresses were sheer and paired with frilly bloomers, while hot pants were completely covered in metal. Never a dull moment at the Betsey Johnson show, Betsey closed the show with her signature cartwheel and with her daughter by her side. What did she have to say after the show? “Thank god it’s over!”
Kudos to Betsey for another brilliant production that consistently steals the spotlight during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week!
