Today, August 8, media queen Oprah Winfrey will be appearing on Facebook Live, Facebook’s online TV show, with the social network’s chief operating officer and Haute 100 San Francisco member Sheryl Sandberg. The daytime talk show legend will appear online from Sandberg’s home for an exclusive one hour chat starting at 1:30 p.m. PST.
Oprah’s appearance will coincide with a private meeting with Silicon Valley leaders like LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner, Demand Media CEO Richard Rosenblatt, and Twitter CEO Dick Costolo.
On September 2, it was reported that Oprah was seeking advice on how to boost internet traffic for her Oprah.com since the site’s traffic had dropped after her iconic talk show ended. “Winfrey will sit down with executives to learn as much as she can about the future of the Web and how best to harness social media,” according to the New York Post.
Since its inception, Facebook Live has drawn in some other big names, including President Barack Obama, former President George W. Bush, actor Vin Diesel, and singer Katy Perry. Log in and join Oprah – the meeting will even include questions from the social media audience. To stop in for the meeting, click here (via Facebook Live).
