Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door Spa Makes-Over Fashion Week Attendees To Be Runway Ready

On Thursday September 8th and Friday September 9th, Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door Spa showed up on the corner of 61st Street and Columbus Avenue in the form of a bus. This bus wasn’t just any bus though, this was a glamorous, fully stocked, beauty bus. A “Glamulence.” VIPs were invited onto the bus to have their hair, makeup, or nails done by the National Hair, Nail and Makeup Directors of Red Door Spas.

Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door Spa’s hair, nail and makeup artists provided the looks for both the Nicholas K and EMERSON Fashion Week runway shows and were giving Fashion Week attendees the opportunity to step onto the bus and try out these same runway looks.

For Spring 2012, Nicholas K wanted the look to be natural channeling the rich vibrancy of the ocean and organic landscape. The hair, created by Zahir Ziani, National Creative Director and Master Hair Stylist for Red Door Spas, was straight and flowing with textured braids extending down using Kérastase Elixir Ultime. National Makeup Director Lindsay Ebbin’s goal was to accentuate the blues, greens and charcoals of the clothing, so soft makeup application was the focus with bursts of peach, corals and creams. Cheeks were refined with bronze and gold shades using Nars Orgasm Blush for a pinky‐peach flush with subtle highlights and accents of golden shimmer. Alisha Botero, National Nails Director for Red Door Spas kept the nail shape natural and polished with sheer silver with purple and pink pearlescent with Wet N Wild Fast Dryin Gray’s Anatomy.

At the Emerson show, they wanted the look to focus on the juxtaposition of lightness and darkness, staying true to a refined yet edgy aesthetic. For the hair  Zahir created a look  that was long with a refined approach to rocker‐chic waves. Frizz is fully eliminated so hair is shiny, sexy and edgy with Kérastase Serum Oleo‐Relax while Lindsay decided to skip  the shimmer and made it all about facial contouring with multiple nude shades and matte products like Elizabeth Arden’s Pure Finish Mineral Powder Foundation in addition to a popping violet eye-liner. Alisha kept the natural nail shape again polished with a pale slate lavender shade using two coats of Essie’s St. Lucia Lilac

All day Thursday and Friday, women were stepping off the bus looking even more fabulous than when they entered, many of them donning the same hair, makeup, and nails as the Nicholas K and EMERSON models. Don’t feel bad if you weren’t included – just take a trip to one of the many Red Door Spa locations.
