Caffeine fiends unite. We take a look at the top five coffee shops in Las Vegas with nary a Starbucks or Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf to be found.
1 Sambalatte Torrefazione
Sambalatte Torrefazione opened late this summer and coffee junkies have been raving since. Beans are ground to order with coffee served up in porcelain china and bedecked with a design in the froth and served with a sweet treat on the side. Baristas serve up their wares from an exhibition area. And the coffee is locally roasted by farmers who use organic or fair trade products.

2 The Beat Coffeehouse
Put together an independent coffeehouse with a record store and you have The Beat Coffeehouse on Sixth and Fremont streets. You can find local coffee from Colorado River Coffee Roasters along with a menu of pastries, sandwiches, salads and smoothies. The collection of vinyl is reason enough to stop here.
3 The Cup
The eye-catching design by Thomas Schoos makes The Cup at Crystals a hip place to stop for a caffeine jolt. Pick up breakfast, sandwiches, salads or desserts when you need to fuel up while shopping.

4 Jean-Philippe Pâtisserie
Desserts and coffee were meant to be in bed together. So head over to Jean-Philippe Pâtisserie at Aria for a cappuccino or latte to go with your chocolates. You can find crepes, sandwiches, soups and salads to go with that cup of coffee, and stop in the store for chocolate to go. We love the decor of this upscale pâtisserie.

5 It’s a Grind
One of the few coffee houses that stays open 24-7, It’s a Grind has free Wi-Fi and an outdoor patio overlooking Desert Breeze park when the weather warms up. Dessert treats made in house satisfy your sweet tooth while board games give you an excuse to linger over that cup of Joe.
