Haute 100 Update: Leonardo DiCaprio Jumps to Top of the List of Highest Paid Actors

Leonardo DiCaprio has been making headlines right and left, most recently because of his eco-resort private island, super-exclusive luxury hybrid, and the respect he’s earned for his environmentalism. Now, we’re thinking he can do even more good with his green as he has topped the annual Forbes list of Hollywood’s highest paid actors.

The list takes into account May 2010 to May 2011. Thanks to his two 2010 films, Christopher Nolan’s “Inception” and Martin Scorcese’s “Shutter Island”, Hollywood’s hottest leading man zoomed past the frontrunners with an estimated $77 million.

Johnny Depp took first place last year with $75 million, but this year, Leo surpassed him easily from his previous fifth place spot as Depp dropped to second place with $50 million. Funny guy Adam Sandler took third with $40 million, Will Smith took fourth place with $36 million, and Tom Hanks came in fifth with $35 million.

Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Wahlberg, Tim Allen, and Tom Cruise finish out the top ten.
