Haute 100 Update: Arnold Schwarzenegger to Make His Big Screen Comeback in ‘Last Stand’, Filming in October

He said he’d be back – and he is. Arnold Schwarzenegger is gearing up to make his big screen comeback with his new movie, Last Stand. The film is said to start filming in Belen, New Mexico in October after a slight delay due to the actor-turned-politician’s recent scandal.

Schwarzenegger announced in May that he was putting his acting career and projects on hold after revealing his split with wife Maria Shriver and that he had fathered a child with a family housekeeper. The projects now have seemed to resume as planned.

Last Stand is a modern day Western about convicts who make their way to the Mexican border through New Mexico after escaping from a prison in Las Vegas. Location manager Paul Roberts said that the remaining casting should be finalized in September and filming would begin the month after.

The film marks Schwarzenegger’s first major movie role since 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, although he did make a cameo appearance in last summer’s The Expendables.
