Yamashiro’s “Night” Market

In Los Angeles the sun doesn’t set until 8:30 pm this time of year and it’s pleasant to spend the evening in a romantic, unexpected place. The Yamashiro Garden Market has recently been voted into the top ten night markets in the world by Travel & Leisure Magazine. The market is elegant, delicious and is a great way to spend sunny summer nights.

Located at the famous Yamashiro restaurant and tucked away in the Hollywood Hills, the market boasts stunning views of the entire city, from Downtown to Santa Monica. The lush landscaping makes it a cool retreat when the temperatures start to rise and the easy access to such a market makes the experience relaxing, as it should be.

One can expect culinary treats at this market more so than other Los Angeles Markets.

The signature Yamashiro taco choices offered include:

Duck Confit Taco with Plum Nectarine Salsa.

Black Cod Taco, which was Miso-Sake Marinated.

Chicken Taco, which was made “Thay Satay Style”.

Short Rib Taco, which was Red Wine and Sake Braised.

Each order came with chips and Wasabe Guacamole with Pickled Shishito Peppers.

Also at the market is coveted CoolHause ice cream. The flavors of ice cream being served this week included Balsalmic Fig, Acai Blueberry, Coffee Oreo, Nutella and Dirty Mint Chip. Other vendors sold preserved foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods and many options for prepared foods.
