Timepiece manufacturer Vacheron Constantin is making his families 180-year-old wish come true by opening up its first U.S. boutique today in New York City. Watches by the brand that was founded in 1831 by Jean-Barthélémy Vacheron have graced the wrists of members of the Rockefeller family, jazz musician Sydney Bechet and Presidents Harry Truman and Dwight D. Eisenhower, to name a few. As Vecheron Constantin has always had a strong relationship with the U.S., and especially New York City, it makes sense he would open up the boutique at the historic 720 Madison Avenue building at 64th street. Three unique watches that will be showcased at the opening today, July 26th, include the Historiques American 1921 Boutique New York, the Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar Boutique New York, and the Patrimony Traditionnelle Calibre 2755 Boutique New York.
Recently, Vacheron Constantine’s 20-carat gold pocket watch sold at $1.8 million dollars during a Christie’s auction.
