The 2011 Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance

This Father’s day, Los Angeles’ world-famous roadway played host to a celebration of the art of Italian motoring—the 2011 Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance. More than 100 of the most luxurious, vintage Italian-designed cars and motorcycles lined Rodeo Drive north of Wilshire Boulevard for the annual affair. The automotive event was part of “LA DOLCE VITA Beverly Hills,” a weeklong showcase of Italian cars, cinema, jewelry, cycling and cuisine celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy.

As this year’s honored marque, Italian brand FIAT featured a showcase of the Fiat 500, a vehicle deeply rooted in Italian style. The display included 14 of the “cinquecento” 2012 models in all 14 exterior colors, as well as the vintage Fiat 500. As a special perk, FIAT offered ride-and-drive opportunities for guests in the 2012 Fiat 500. Other contributors to this world-class collection of cars included Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, and Lancia. Motorcycle models from Ducatti, Vespa, and many other top-of-the-line Italian brands were also on display, as well as a rare display of an authentic 38-foot gondola direct from the Venetian canals. Additionally, GEARYS Beverly Hills featured a spectacular display for guests of a yellow Ferrari balanced on four porcelain espresso cups designed by Richard Ginori.

Platinum sponsors of the event included, Ferrari USA, The Auto Gallery, Beverly Hills Conference and Visitors Bureau, The City of Beverly Hills, and Rodeo Drive Committee. GEARYS Beverly Hills, IWC and Beverly Hills Rent A Car were gold sponsors. Silver sponsors included, Beverly Wilshire A Four Seasons Hotel, Brooks Brothers, Lladro, Luxe Hotel, Petersen Automotive Museum and Seguso. Media partners for the event included, The Beverly Hills Courier, Haute Living, Sports Car Market and Garage Magazine.
