Hautels: Grand Hyatt Malaysia to Open in 2012

This just in hotel news: The Grand Hyatt is set to open a property in Kuala Lumpur in 2012. The move marks the brand’s introduction into Malaysia, further increasing the presence of Hyatt-branded hotels in Southeast Asia. The news comes shortly after the announcement of the opening of another Hyatt brand, Andaz, in Shanghai (we covered it here). In the past year, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts have been on the uprise, expanding dramatically around the world and especially in the Asian countries where tourism is at an all-time high. Tourism projections for 2012 are positive and expected to rise as well, beating out the statistics for 2010 and 2011.

The Grand Hyatt is already under construction in the Golden Triangle area of Kuala Lumpur close to the Petronas Towers. While no images of the hotel have been released, information about the 5-star property is already available. The hotel will be integrated into an iconic, mixed-use complex and occupy floors 17-39, featuring 412 luxurious guest rooms and spectacular views of the downtown Kuala Lumpur. As for food & beverage options, there will be a 228-seat cafe, a 298-seat specialty restaurant, and 74-seat Sky Lobby Lounge. Other hotel amenities include ample meeting and event spaces and a full service spa and fitness center. Located at the center of it all, it’ll be the perfect intersection of entertainment, leisure, and luxury.
