Hautels: Andaz Shanghai Opening Soon

Earlier this year, Hyatt announced exciting plans for expansion of its modern boutique hotel brand, Andaz, to Shanghai, China. Opening was set for summer. It’s halfway through the summer season and Andaz has yet to open, but keep on the lookout as it’s set to open any day now! The opening in the Xintiandi region of Shanghai marks the first Andaz in Asia. Xintiandi is an entertainment area in the heart of downtown Shanghai and a short walk to the Metro and the prestigious Huai Hai Zhong Road, one of the city’s premier shopping areas, known worldwide as the shopper’s paradise.

While no photos of the hotel have been released, information on its amenities and features are available. The 24-storied hotel will feature 307 guests rooms, of which 47 will be premium suites. Every room will come fully stocked with the appropriate amenities plus a distinct feature not normally seen in other hotels- customizable LED lighting to suit a guest’s changing moods. Food wise, they’re pulling out all of the stops with 3 original spots: the lobby bar, Andaz Lounge, an all-day French patisserie, Eclair, and the signature restaurant, Hai Pai, a combination of French bistro and Shanghainese brasserie. Contrary to most hotel restaurants which simply function as an extension of the hotel, Hai Pai aspires to be the area’s premiere friendly neighborhood restaurant. The hotel will also be great for anyone seeking a location for events and meetings, offering 11 different spaces indoors and a grand terrace pavilion with 6 spaces outdoors. And finally for the true luxury traveler, the on-site spa will offer the very best in rest and relaxation.

Andaz Shanghai will be located at 88 Songshan Road. The hotel is currently not taking any reservations, but can be reached through email at the following address: info.shanghai@andaz.com. For more information about Andaz, Hyatt’s modern boutique hotel brand, visit their website.
