Audemars Piguet Japan hosts Tohoku Charity Night to Aid Earthquake Victims

On July 11, Audemars Piguet Japan held the new “Ginza 7” Launch Charity Night at Blue Note Tokyo where they encouraged contribution to “SUPPORT JAPAN”, AP’s broad-based fundraising initiative to aid the victims of the March 11th Tohoku earthquake in Northern Japan.

“We believe that as an international company operating in Japan it is the firm’s responsibility to lead long term fund-raising initiatives to support the victims of the earthquake and tsunami”, said Mr. Mugino, CEO of Audemars Piguet Japan.

“SUPPORT JAPAN”  is a long-range plan projected to raise 100 million yen to be donated to the Japanese Red Cross. The Charity Night was attended by 300 guests including AP VIPS, celebrities and media.

Additionally, Wu Ru-jun, a famous Jinghu player who is regarded as a national treasure in China and Verbal, a member of m-flo who is also a jewelry designer, rapper and Hip-Hop music producer performed in support of AP’s project.

As a core part of the “SUPPORT JAPAN” project, APJ launched the Royal Oak Offshore GINZA 7 Forged Carbon at the Charity Night. Ten percent of sales of the product at the Ginza Boutique will be donated to SUPPORT JAPAN.

This new model is issued in a limited edition of 200 pieces, all exclusively distributed by the Audemars Piguet Boutique in Ginza. The piece will be available for online bidding from July 12 until August 31 on the AP Boutique Ginza website.
