For the weekend of July 14, the vibrant and exciting art scene of the Hamptons is adding to its repertoire 35 leading galleries in the U.S. and internationally to benefit the East End’s rich philanthropic heritage.
artMRKT Hamptons is one of three new shows being put together this year by artMRKT Productions, a Brooklyn-based organizer of fine art fairs. This new modern and contemporary art fair will showcase painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, video and instillation from a tightly focused selection of work by important artists. This state-of-the-art tented venue on the grounds of the Bridgehampton Historical Society provides a boutique setting ideal for the exploration and acquisition of art.
In conjunction with the fair, artMRKT is offering MRKTworks, an innovative fund-raising program in which collectors can bid online and onsite in an auction of work donated by participating galleries. One hundred percent of the proceeds for each work will go to the corresponding beneficiary. Participating organizations are beloved, Hamptons-based non-profits, such as The Nature Conservancy, Bay Street Theatre, and the Children’s Museum of the East End.
The gallery is open to the public from Friday, July 15, through Sunday, July 17. However, artMRKT Hamptons will be hosting a Benefit Preview Party followed by a VIP Preview Party on Thursday, July 14, sponsored by Cadillac. Proceeds from these events will be donated to Southampton Hospital. Among other spirits and refreshments offered at the parties will be drinks poured courtesy of California sparkling wine pioneer Chandon. Tickets to the Benefit Preview Party also provide admission to the VIP Preview Party and access to the exhibition and VIP Lounge on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
