Maritime Indulgence: Derecktor Shipyards’ luxurious Cakewalk

The yacht’s sun deck is the ideal spot for leisure and entertaining with a bar and whirlpool spa.

There has been plenty of buzz in the nautical world about Derecktor Shipyards’ luxurious Cakewalk, the largest yacht ever built in the U.S. Although the project launched last year, the vessel will make her debut this summer with Merle Wood and Burgess as her co-agents.

Tim Heywood Designs orchestrated the building of Cakewalk, while Elizabeth Dalton of Dalton Designs, Inc. styled the interior. An ever-imperative attention to detail upholds the grandeur of the vessel, while rich rosewood and oak accents retain a feeling of warmth and comfort.

The yacht’s sun deck is the ideal spot for leisure and entertaining with a bar and whirlpool spa. The three additional decks offer open and shaded areas, making the entertaining and relaxing properties of the vessel virtually limitless.

The owner’s accommodations include a private deck with full master stateroom, study, lounge, gym, and spacious his/her bathrooms outfitted with exquisite marble. The foyer of the area leads into a large saloon with a complete bar, leisure lounge, and theater. Cakewalk also boasts four spacious guestrooms with spectacular views and natural lighting provided by large windows throughout.

For unparalleled playtime, there is also an extensive collection of watersport equipment – four WaveRunners, complete scuba and snorkeling gear, two Seabob water scooters, beach party equipment, custom mountain bikes, sea kayaks, water skis, wakeboards, and more – stowed carefully in a climate-controlled storage garage with large shell doors that open to both port and starboard for optimum ease of use.
