Hublot Opens First-Ever Boutique in Japan

Swiss watch retailer Hublot is bringing its signature rubber-strap timepieces to Japan. The new Ginza, Tokyo boutique’s opening ceremony was held June 2, 2011. Hublot’s Japan flagship boutique marks the brand’s 35th store. New locations in Place Vendôme in Paris and Madison Avenue, Beverly Hills were established recently as well, and Hublot plans to continue its expansion throughout the year and beyond.

The boutique was designed by New York “starchitect” Peter Marino and carries the same concept as the Place Vendôme and Madison Avenue, New York  stores as it reiterates the brand’s ideal of fusion with a combination of bronze, natural buckskin, and ebony in the decor.

An array of Hublot timepieces will be on display using innovative showcases, and the newest Hublot events will be displayed on a high-definition screen. The new boutique is the first retailer in Japan to carry the “Vendome Collection” in Japan.

The June 2 opening ceremony took place in front of the boutique. Notable guests included Sumo Wrestler HAKUHO, goalkeeper Mr. Seigo Narazaki, Hublot CEO Mr. Jean-Claude Biver, founder of Kids Earth Fund Ms. Harumi Torii, and President of Hublot Japan and LVMH Japan Mr. Emmanuel Prat.

To commemorate the event, Hublot “Official Watchmaker” and “Official Timekeeper” partner FIFA unveiled the Winner’s Trophy for 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, the first public release of the trophy in Japan.
