Haute Event: Karina Smirnoff Hosts at Tao Beach and Tao; Tony Parker Celebrates His Birthday

Dancer Karina Smirnoff in the deejay booth at Tao Beach.

“Dancing with the Stars” pro and Playboy cover model Karina Smirnoff hosted at Tao Beach at the Venetian on Saturday. The beauty donned multiple swimsuits, popped into the booth to get a lesson from DJ Jason Lema, and even started a beach ball war with partiers in the pool. Smirnoff was joined by her fellow “Dancing with the Stars” dancers Peta Murgatroyd and Damian Whitewood as they shared a cabana with former NFL pro Michael Strahan and Nicole Murphy. It was compliments all around as the ladies admired each others’ figures while snacking on sushi, coconut shrimp and french fries. Smirnoff got on the mic, telling the crowd to, “Raise your glass.”

Hosting duties continued Saturday night as Smirnoff and friends dined at Tao at the Venetian under the watchful eye of the hot spot’s famed Buddha. Dining nearby was a table that included San Antonio Spur Tony Parker, along with Strahan and Murphy.

At another table in the main dining room actress Allison Janney and a friend enjoyed sea bass, sashimi and Buddha chicken, wrapping up the feast with Tao’s Giant Fortune Cookie. At yet another table, Brittny Gastineau dined with friends.

After enjoying dinner wearing a snakeskin print dress, Smirnoff made a quick change into a leopard print number before heading up to a dance floor table in the club next to Parker, Strahan and Murphy, turning the night into one big party. Smirnoff hopped into the deejay booth with Eric D Lux to wish Parker, who turned 29 late in May, a belated happy birthday and the basketball star was surprised with a magnum of Champagne. After dancing with a number of petite brunettes, Parker also made his way to the deejay booth, getting on the mic to shout out his friends.

Lavo at the Palazzo was the destination for the after party for the Simon G event that took place earlier in the night. George Kotsiopolous from E!’s “Fashion Police,” “Dancing with the Stars” celeb Cheryl Burke, figure skater Evan Lysacek, reality star Stephanie Pratt and actor Shaun Sipos were all spotted dining at the Italian eatery. Joan Rivers dined on Lavo’s expansive terrace overlooking the Strip.

Kotsiopolous, Burke, Lysacek and Pratt headed up to the club for cocktails at a table on the dance floor, taking in the sounds of DJ Reach.

Later in the night Pratt made her way to Tao to join Karina Smirnoff’s table.
