The celebrity world’s biggest names gathered on Monday, May 2, for the Metropolitan Museum’s Annual Costume Institute Gala. An enormous amount of stars were in attendance dressed to the nines, including Madonna, Taylor Swift, Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady, Jessica Alba, and many, many more.

Some of our favorite leading ladies were looking extraordinarily glamorous in fresh, stunning looks with cosmetics from the celebrated NARS brand, including their new-for-Fall “Larger Than Life” collection. Here’s our breakdown of the evening’s most gorgeous looks.

Nicole Richie: The ever-stylish designer/mom went for a look that was reminiscent of that iconic old Hollywood glamour. Eric Polito for NARS Cosmetics layered her eyes in rich, sultry tones of blacks and greens paired with vampy rich red lips.

Chloe Sevigny: In attendance wearing a custom-made dress which was made for and given to her by the legendary Alexander McQueen, Chloe wanted her look to be sultry and “slept-in,” which she is well-known for executing impeccably. Daniel Martin for NARS Cosmetics used a liner from the new Larger Than Life collection, applied it, then quickly smudged it out to create a cool, effortless vibe.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen: We’re glad the days of these fab twins looking exactly alike are over, because they both came out looking extraordinary in their own styles. For Mary-Kate, celebrity make-up artist Molly Stern complemented Mary-Kate’s vintage Givenchy Haute Couture with a stunning, intense look while providing Ashley with a glowing, ethereal look to go with her glamorous gown.

Alexa Chung: Her outfit for the night was a throwback to the mod ’60s, but the glitz of it all made it modern at the same time. Tamah K. for NARS Cosmetics wanted to recreate that unique balance with her make-up as well, pairing a graphic cat-eye look with shimmer and a chic neutral lip color.

Other stars who had their glam looks done by NARS’ expert artists include Eva Mendes, Bar Rafaeli, Claire Danes, Kristen Bell, Jessica Stam, and more. Check out all of their stunning looks and re-create them! NARS’ Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliners will be available for the rest of us on July 15 at and the Larger Than Life Lip Glosses will be available starting August 1 at Now, if only we could get our hands on some vintage Givenchy couture…
