This past Wednesday, May 11, 2011, Hublot held a spirited bash in honor of both their new boutique (located at 62nd and Madison Ave.) and 25 years of amfAR, the Foundation of AIDS research. To celebrate in style, Hublot unveiled a special edition Black Magic Big Bang in amfAR colors and logo, made especially to support the amfAR global struggle against HIV/AIDS.
Guest that night included amfAR Chairman Kenneth Cole, Hublot ambassador and supermodel Veronica Varekova and Lady Lynn de Rothschild amongst others. This stunning 44mm watch is made of black ceramic case and bezel, featuring a rubber alligator strap, and features a self-winding chronograph movement. Pieces are limited, with only 100 made; this eye catching bad boy is estimated at $15,900.
“We feel honored to be joining amfAR’s efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS,” states Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver. “The vision truly resonates with our top principle of ‘sharing’ and we hope that through our partnership we are able to bring greater light to this important issue.”
“In choosing to partner with amfAR and to support our efforts to bring the AIDS epidemic to an end, Hublot is making an important contribution to AIDS research and global health. We’re very grateful for their support,” reports Dr. Krim.
In addition to the extraordinary unveiling, the evening also hosted a private showing of the newest Hublot timepieces as well as a rare sampling of Mr. Biver’s homemade Swiss cheese. The a la Biver menu which incorporated dishes such as the Black Magic Crab Salad, Biver Cheese Sliders, Tutti Frutti Macaroons and more. Without doubt the night was truly inspiring and well presented by the brand’s vision of fusion.
Hublot created its name 30 years ago when it became the first Swiss watch luxury brand to combine valued metals with practical rubber, sparking a revolution for material innovation and aesthetics.
