Haute Event: Fashion Show to Honor Soldiers of IDF

On Thursday evening, a host of celebrities enchanted a band of soldiers along with their friends and families to celebrate Israel’s 63rd Anniversary. Leggy models hit the catwalk donning threads from ten of the top Israeli-American and Jewish designers based in Los Angeles, including Dina Bar-el, Gypsy 05, Natalia Romano, and Tal Sheyn Pure by Raw 7, to name a few.

In commemoration of the event, each designer was asked to create a special piece to be featured in the finale and be auctioned off following the show at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel, Plaza Pavilion. Earnings from the night benefited FIDF, a non-profit organization established in 1981 to support the welfare of the soldiers and families of the IDF. IDF soldiers work side by side with U.S. troops to protect and provide global humanitarian support for man-made and natural calamities in countries such as Haiti and Japan.  The sold-out invitation-only affair played double duty as the launch for FIDF’s Make a Difference T-shirt campaign to benefit the IDF soldiers.

A special performance helped rally guests when Recording Artists Won-G and Dalit hit the stage. Hollywood heavies like Macy Gray and actress Phoebe Price lent a hand to the event as did event emcees actress Shirly Brener and former Miss Israel Ilana Shoshan, along with many others.
