Haute Dining: Top Chef’s Jeff McInnis to Open New Restaurant on South Beach

Jeff McInnis, Miami’s hometown Top Chef, left Midtown’s Gigi in March to the dismay of diners all over South Florida. After anticipating the young chef’s next move, we all now have something to look forward to. According to the Miami New Times, McInnis is set to open Yardbird Southern Table & Bar on South Beach. Although there is no set opening date yet (the website merely says “Fall 2011”), mouths all over Miami are starting to water just knowing he’s back on the scene.

50 Eggs Restaurant Group, the company behind Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, has enlisted the acclaimed culinary figure to be head chef and owner of Yardbird. Melissa Trimp, marketing and public relations manager at 50 Eggs, has confirmed that McInnis has been hard at work to develop the restaurant’s menu, which we’re sure will be scrumptious enough to ease the pain of his departure from Gigi.

Yardbird Southern Table & Bar will be located on 16th Street and Lenox Avenue in Miami Beach. For more information, visit runchickenrun.com.
