Feeling Blue and Loving It: Summer Jewels by Boucheron, David Yurman, Bulgari and more

Turquoise takes on new life

Turquoise for summer is a less-than-groundbreaking concept; however, clever implementations, marrying the bright blue stone with other brightly shaded bling, have this rock taking center stage on the summer jewelry scene. Top houses ranging from Bulgari to Boucheron are mixing the oft-rough but never dull material with emeralds and rubies for an instant upgrade, making what could sometimes be classified as slightly more casual, instantly regal. Similar results came from the likes of Van Cleef&Arpels, who used turquoise in the reincarnation of their famed Zip necklace—born of the whim of the Duchess of Windsor, and still at the helm of the houses couture jewelry collection. Case in point: don’t be afraid to mix and match; the least obvious might be the best suiting.
