2011 Newport Rhode Island Concours starts May 21st

Mark your calendars on May 21st and May 22nd for this year’s Newport Rhode Island Concours. This is the perfect weekend for you to take out your classic Ferrari and experience all the great festivities the Newport Concours has to offer.

There are many activities planned for this weekend Concours in the all too beautiful Newport Rhode Island. The Road Tour Welcome Breakfast starts on Saturday and this is where you can show off your own personal Special Interest or Concours automobile. Drivers participating will also have an opportunity to take a drive in one of the Sponsor’s Halo Vehicles. The drive will take you along the beautiful oceanfront of Newport, feature wine tasting, a Louis Vuitton style tailgate with private Polo match and a visit to a gilded Newport Mansion.

This is just the start of the weekend as there will also be an Impromptu Evening Auto Salon on Saturday with a Formal Mansion Dinner.  The event is not just for the guys though as there will also be a Coco Chanel Couture of the Art Deco period fashion exhibit.

Sunday the 22nd is the day of the Concours d’Elegance and after a day of luxury, cruising, and great people this is the time to kick back and enjoy the day at Fort Adams. Whether your showcasing a car at the event or just coming to check out vehicles on display this will be the place to be in Newport. Bring your camera’s to snatch up some great photography at the dramatic Automobile Drive-in. This will take place at the Fort’s North Gate and Tunnel and is sure to be my favorite part of the event.

Ultimately the Newport Concours is a great way to get out and share your passions for automobiles and makes some new friends. When purchasing your tickets please take a moment to think about making a donation to the one of the three beneficiaries of the event: Boys & Girls Club, the Collectors Foundation, and Autism Speaks.
