Haute Event: Mother’s Day at Leatherby’s Café Rouge

Born in Tennessee but raised right here in Orange County, Exec Chef at Leatherby’s Café Rouge, Ross Pangilinan has been behind the burners around the globe — which might explain why the culinary creations he whips up at Leatherby’s always have a certain global flair. What’s the same around the world, though? Mother’s Day, which is where he’ll be serving a great prix fixe this year — bring your mom to this unique restaurant and she’ll surely be impressed.

Nestled inside the Segerstrom Center of the Arts, Leatherby’s isn’t your average brunch spot. Where else can you sit in the shadow of the center and watch passersby on their way to a performance (in this case, they’ll be one their way to the Shen Yun World Tour or the Music and Art performance by the Pacific Symphony)? On the menu for May 8th, meals will start with a choice of tarte flambé, a selection of salads or smoked salmon on blini (pictured) and continue with skirt steak and eggs, French toast (below), eggs benedict and more. The brunch finishes with a dessert, your choice of chocolate soufflé, strawberry vanilla cake or panna cotta with “fruit rouge.”

Leatherby’s Café Rouge is located at 615 Town Center Dr., at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts (Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall) in Costa Mesa. For more information or to make reservations for Mother’s Day, call 714.429.7640 or visit their official web site at www.patinagroup.com/caferouge.
