Haute Event: Miami City Ballet Celebrated 25 years with a Black Tie Gala and Season Ending Performance of Romeo and Juliet

March 25 was a big night for the Miami City Ballet.  The curtains rose on the eagerly anticipated premiere of John Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet and a black tie gala was held celebrating the ballet’s 25 year anniversary.

The evening began with a pre performance VIP cocktail reception hosted by Graff where guest mingled in their gala best and sipped sparkling wine courtesy of Bacardi at the Adrienne Arsht Center’s Peacock Rehearsal Studio.  Guests were later escorted to the Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House for the company premiere of Romeo and Juliet.  The longtime support of Ophelia and Juan Js. Roca, and Bennett and Gerri LeBow was recognized during the performance and it ended with the dancers bringing everyone to their feet for a much deserved standing ovation.  The evening wrapped up at the Knight Concert Hall where gala guests enjoyed an exclusive dinner by Barton G, dedicated to the late Charlotte Breyer Rodgers and toasted to the close of another successful year for the Miami City ballet.
