Haute Event: American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter Gala

The American Red Cross has dedicated their time and lives to helping those unfortunate ones who were devastated by such natural disasters by providing the service that they need, while still teaching people how to avoid, and or, respond to immediate emergencies. On March 21, the American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter had the chance to reap the rewards of being such benevolent human beings with the American Red Cross Gala, held in the beautiful and historic Louis A. Turpen Aviation Museum at San Francisco International Airport.

Red Cross members took a load off of their shoulders, and replaced it with dazzling jewels and soft dresses, as they prepared themselves for not only a night of fun and engagement, but also for an event that supported the Red Cross Foundation for disaster readiness. DJ Dylan Cahill provided the music and set the mood for this event, as guests were ultimately allured by the continuous supply of hors d’eouvres and alcohol that were at their disposal.

The drinks flowed to perfection with an assortment of beer, wine, and a vodka bar sponsored and provided by GREY GOOSE. The hors d’oeuvres attracted guests even more to this event’s lavish deliciousness, as provided by Door, Tacolicious and Ristobar, and the benign servers took us back to the 1940s with vintage Red Cross uniforms decked about them as they waited on patient individuals. But nothing says a gala like three very high-status Bay Area chefs attending. Chef Jeremy Goldfarb of 123 Bolinas, Chef Tammy Huynh of Tamarine, and Chef Kathy Fang of Fang, were more than happy to not only attend this special event, but to also offer delectable treats for the guests, as well as complimentary recipe cards to benefit any aspiring chef.

Bauer Transportation and Academy of Art University were obviously feeling the positive spirit as they offered gracious shuttle service to and from downtown San Francisco, make this night not only exciting but also vastly efficient.

Wonderful Red Cross supporters in attendance included American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter board chair Susan Atherton, British Consul General Julian Evans and his wife Gayle, Greek Consul General Ioannis Andreas, FoodGal Carolyn Jung as well as Red Cross Gala co-chairs Gwyneth Borden and Roberta Economidis. Gala sponsors in attendance included representatives from XOJet, IBM, Riverbed Technologies, Inc. and Hiro and Betty Ogawa.

So as the American Red Cross continues their way into the homes and hearts of those that need their helping hand, they will always remember this fabulous gala, and pass on the joyful energy of their past emotions to those whom they service.
