BMW Group DesignworksUSA to Open New Studio in Shanghai

Asia is already inching towards global economic domination, and China, one of the points on its glimmering star, is acquiring yet more business by way of BMW DesignworksUSA, a California-based group of strategic design consultants, which will open another branch in Shanghai later this year. In response to Asian markets flood of exponential growth and rising consumer trends, companies such as BMW have decided to ride the successful waves in hopes of increasing their own revenues.

Laurenz Schaffer, President BMW Group DesignworksUSA released a statement saying, “By tapping into the Chinese market, DesignworksUSA gains a deeper understanding of Chinese consumer behaviors and offers a global creative perspective to our clients in China and in Asia, while incorporating the Chinese viewpoint in our projects for our US and European clients.”

Shanghai is strategically located on the mainland of China and at the heart of Asia. The proverbial revolving door of China’s busy marketplace along with its innovative approach to design has the world focused on its next move.

DesignworksUSA is the think tank for BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, works in partnership with such moguls as Siemens Inspiro Metro and Embraer Legacy Jet, and is responsible for design of the Intermarine 55 Yacht, Sennheiser earphones and HP Z800 Workstation.
