New Yorkers are always looking for the next trend in fitness. I think I’ve found it, and it’s here to stay! As One Fitness is a unique workout devised by Mark Merchant and George Vafiades. Both are tri-athletes, tri-athlete coaches, personal trainers, and veterans of six 24 hour races and 6 full Ironman triathlons respectively. Needless to say, you’re in good hands! The philosophy of As One is to work out in a small group, similar to how tri-athletes train, so the support of the “team” helps push you through the workout, both physically and mentally.
The programs combine cardio, resistance training using your own body, stretching and myofascial release. If you don’t have serious time to devote to working out, you’ve found your exercise niche; you only go twice a week. The program is so effective that anything beyond that, and it’s diminishing returns.
