Save the Date: Celebrate Spring with Lowe Art Museum’s Spring into Art Auction

Attention art lovers! Lowe Art Museum celebrates spring this Friday, March 11 with its aptly titled Spring into Art auction and cocktail. The annual silent auction is presented by Friends of Art and will be held at the UM Lowe Art Museum in Coral Gables.

America! is the theme of this year’s auction and guests will get to bid on more than 50 original works of art in every media by both local and international artists as they display their interpretation on this subject. Among the 50 works on view, 18 will be from homegrown Miami talent including established artists whose work is among the permanent collections of the countries most respected art institutions and emerging artists that are just beginning to draw, paint and sculpt their mark on the art world.

This will also be the first year that the Wynwood art scene gets in on the auction action as some of Wynwood’s most dynamic galleries donate works by their artists. Among the participating galleries are Pan American Art Projects, Dina Mitrani Gallery, Bakehouse Art Complex and Artformz.

The Lowe Art Museum is one of South Florida’s oldest and most respected museums. Its magnificent permanent collection includes Greco-Roman statues, Native and Ancient American art, Baroque and Renaissance painting and sculpture and Asian art.  The current photography exhibition on display Frank Paulin:  An American Documentarian is a must see for photography lovers before it closes in May of this year and is a great example of the quality of work that the museum exhibits.

All ticket sale and auction proceeds benefit Lowe Art Museum making the excitement of bidding feel that much better as it helps one of South Florida’s best continue to exhibit world class art.
