Save the Date: Art Exhibition Fundraiser for Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism

While we normally don’t equate the passionate violence of the gridiron with the fervent brush strokes of a talented painter, these two worlds have found a harmonious partnership in the form of a Boston benefit for autism.

Full-service art gallery Quidley and Company (118 Newbury Street, Boston, 617.450.4300) is teaming up with Boston College darling Doug Flutie on Thursday, March 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. to host a fundraising event with proceeds going towards his Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, a charitable initiative dedicated to supporting families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. The event will feature artist Christal Bjork, a pastel visionary whose New England paintings are inspired by the area’s coastal light, with 100 percent of ticket sales and 10 percent of proceeds generated from the sale of featured works going directly to the foundation.

So if you’d like to peruse some local landscape art with a hometown hero while supporting an MVC (Most Valuable Cause), head down to the Newbury Street gallery next Thursday.
