Roll Call at The Crescent – Red Cross Gala

The Roll Call Gala at The Crescent Hotel Saturday night kicked off the 100th anniversary year of the Dallas Chapter-area of the Red Cross. The “party with a purpose” garnered attendees both members of the Red Cross as well as supporters of their cause. The evening included an assortment of casino games, with winnings giving guests a chance to win the house raffle prize – a round trip air transportation for two from Southwest Airlines. The silent auction featured everything from Kenichi to OPI and Prestonwood Country Club, as well as Tiffany & Co and Disneyland.

Small plates were served at several stations around the hall and ballroom, with dishes such as Florida Lobster Risotto, Grouper Fish Tacos and Texas Rubbed NY Strip Steak, courtesy of the Crescent kitchen. Hunter Sullivan provided the jazz band entertainment, while guests lingered at tables showcasing a centerpiece of stunning red roses.

But the night didn’t end there. Piper’s After Party inside the Crescent Club’s Gourmet Room began at 10:30, celebrating Piper the Puppy, the Red Cross’ new mascot. The doll can be purchased for $100 and will be given to a scared child who was traumatized by a fire, flood or other disaster.  Donations will go toward providing shelter, food, blankets and basic hygiene to someone who has lost everything. Only those with the special event dog tags could stick around for the after party.
